Does a little cheating = a little loss????

Okay, I may be crazy on this issue.  I had been eating extremely well for weeks and making it to the gym 5-6 nights a week and the scale wasn’t really cooperating.  I went from 184 to 183 and back to 184 and so on for forever.

I had a date night with my husband Friday so I didn’t do really well that day.  No exercise and we went to my favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner.  His birthday was Thursday and my birthday was Sunday.  That means that we went out to eat Thurs, Fri, and Sunday.  Through it all, I had only one bite of cake, not one piece.  But the eating out wasn’t really good:(  My diet still has not gotten back on track yet, but tomorrow it WILL.  I missed the gym Fri and Mon.   I just have felt like I have been really messing up.

So, I go to the gym tonight, fully expecting to see a gain of up to 3 or 4 lbs.  Imagine how shocked I am when I see that I am actually down a pound:)  I was thrilled but it really confuses me.  When I feel like I am doing fabulous, I stay the same.  When I feel like I have been cheating right and left, I show a loss!  What gives???

This is not the first time something like this has happened to me.  Can anyone explain this to me???

You confused your body. We always have to keep in mind that our bodies get into a pattern, too, and sometimes we have to change things up so that we can kick start it into action again. Try new foods that are healthy. Things that you have never had and your body will respond. Also, it is good to give yourself a treat every once in a while. Happy birthday!

You’re not crazy but that is crazy making! COuld be the switch from fat to muscle as well as your meatbolism catching up! Keep at it and more pounds will come off, too! Nice going on the cake.

I agree with everything that has been said. We al get into those “ruts”..and any change could actually help us out. Just hang in there. You are doing great by going to the gym. :)

Well, I have a dirty mind but date nights with hubby sometimes equal…well you know…the fun stuff. The fun stuff can burn calories!

LOL. I agree with all of the other comments! Especially the one about our bodies getting into patterns and a little change helps kick start some changes. Also make sure you are eating at least the minimum amount of calories that you are supposed to. If you try to under eat…or even accidently under eat…your body will kind of freak out and just start storing your fat and that will make it harder to lose weight.

The same thing happens to me! I hate it because it discourages me from my healthy habits.
