NEED SOME MOTIVATION
I need to be motivated. I am a stay at home mom with two beautiful little girls. I went back to work after having my second daughter and immediately lost 20 pounds. I did great. I ate healthy, walked on my lunchbreak, and I didn’t snack because I was too busy working.

Skip ahead 5 months. I quit my job because daycare was too expensive for 2 children. So now, I am bored at home, I found the 20 lbs I lost, and I am constantly snacking. I rarely work out because I feel like I don’t have the time. I am on my way to gain more weight instead of lose. I really need to lose the weight. I recently found out my cholesterol is high. I just don’t feel healthy. I don’t really know what the definition of binge eating is, but I know I have a problem. I often eat when I’m not hungry. I am addicted to peanut butter. I just need some motivation and support. If anyone has any tips on how to fit in exercise with a 3 year old and an 8 month old, I would appreciate it. Sorry if it seems like I’m whining but I’m just feeling miserable today.
How are you bored at home without any time?
Is there a way you could play with your children that would be both fun and be physical
Just keeping up with kids that age has to be a work out… You can try making it a game… Teach you children how to exercize, praise them for the fine job they do… Do it together And they will thank you for it later… Snack all you want, just snack smart… Grapes, apple slices, carrots, celery and all the water you want… You are doing great, gurrrrllll… Keep up the hard work…

I know about the boredom issue, though it doesn’t creep in very often here. I have a 3.5 year old and a 20 month old. Playing outside with them as well as in the house keeps boredom at bay. I use a pedometer and try to get in 10K steps a day. You can do that while folding laundry, watching tv, dishes, just about anywhere. For me, the grocery store is good for almost 2000! Good luck.
I know exactly how you feel, I am in the same boat. I eat when I’m not hungry
and crave all the things I shouldn’t eat. I try to have fruit salad cut up and ready
to eat and a bowl of lettuce and another bowl of cut up fresh veggies in the fridge
at all times. Then if I am looking for something sweet I grab the fruit and sprinkle
some cinnamon on it so it seems like more of a treat. Plus there are a lot of health
benefits to cinnamon. If you crave peanut butter, try scooping out 1 Tablespoon
of it into a small bowl, then put the jar away. Then dip some veggies in it and
eat them along with a tall glass of water.
Hopefully that will help stop the craving, these things work for me most the time.
You’ll get there. We all go through rough spots, but it’s the long termpersistence
that matters.
Good luck!!!
I am a stay at home mom..I home school so that is about 5-7 hrs a day.I also have to take care of my son.Cook dinner, feed animals ect..We all are busy…You can break up your exercises during the day..ABOUT 30 MIN ..Try “THE CARDIO FREE DIET” get some strenght bands..You only have to do it 30 min 3 days a week..That is all you really need..To start with 30 min..I was always worried about time..Still am !You have to think of your self..Take the time for you. Good luck with this..It’s a long road. Don’t give up..Keep in mind that you want to look and feel better. That will keep you going. If you do not take this time for you it will only get worse.
Although it may seem silly, maybe you need a hobby. Something to break up your day a little bit. And if the walls start closing in, throw the kids in the stroller and go. You’ll be amazed how much a little bit of exercise will improve your attitude. (I am speaking from experience here!) I certainly empathize with the boredom of staying home but still not feeling as though you have time, because little ones that age need a set schedule and take up alot of time. In any way you can, make time for yourself! You are a mom, but you are also a person too! It’s hard, but it’s worth it too. Your kids will definately benefit from you taking care of yourself.
Kim,
My life is pretty close to your except I have boys. When I stayed home to save on daycare costs I was alway on a low grade depression. I loved staying home but was always on the go for them and didn’t meet to many people who had to lose weight or had simular interests. My hubby doesnt need to lose weight and I packed on nearly 75 pounds ( I also had a lot of crap in those 10 years happen).
I wish I would have taken someones advice before hand and started to put myself first. Honestly as selfish as it is it helps everyone out. Lets face it when we are miserable with weight we are miserable to many people in our families. So I started to get up before everyone at 530 am and hop on the treadmill. I don’t exercise 3x a day or anything and the weight is coming off slowly but the biggest thing is I am so much happier. I am able to go longer and enjoy life better. I hope this helps. We are here for you.
